Changes are afoot...

So, after much discussion we have decided to split the website in two...its very exciting and means we can stock even more fabulous saucy lingerie and sex toys, not to mention we can expand the lines to appeal to a wider audience.

The lingerie site will list more brands than it currently does, but also we want to start to look at more specialist areas (more on that in later blog posts!), plus we want to stock swimwear that will appeal to the most people, from vintage appearance to racy and sexy.

We plan to increase our range for plus size customers as, being on the curvy side myself, we understand what a challenge it can be to find sexy as well as elegant choices that are not ridiculously expensive (by the way, if anyone has any particular brands they love, please let us know and we'll look into stocking them :-)) We plan to split the more racy lingerie options into its own section so those who feel less comfortable viewing them won't have to, and expand the stock on both the saucy and slightly less saucy items.

On the sex toys side, this site will also host the fancy dress options. We also plan to increase the choices of toys, so again if you have any particular preferences and you can't currently see them on our site, let us know and we can look into it :-)

A very steep learning curve

Although we have both been in business for a number of years, ecommerce is new to us, and boy is there a lot of learn!

Who knew it was so complicated getting your site seen by potential customers?! Not us! And the amount of work that goes into promoting and marketing every website you visit had never occurred to us before we had to do it ourselves.

Besides FaceBook and Twitter and other social media sites, which is really the easiest area to deal with, Google AdWords are mind boggling! Trying to figure out which would be the most cost effective and useful words to link organic searches to our website and beat the competition on the bid is almost impossible.

From the research we have done, we know we are competitive on our prices, and if customers are just looking for value for money, then we are right up there with the others and know we are not over priced. But customers want a brand they can trust and recognise, and building that reputation is not easy and takes time. And that's the frustrating part for 2 women who have been mainly involved in other areas of business, it's putting the working in and then waiting and waiting to get something back.

Each of us separately recently visited a psychic! Now I've always been a sceptic and went in with an open though sceptical mind. But she convinced me, after not allowing me to tell her anything at all about myself and my life, and separately, she told us both that we would be successful...so we're putting in the effort and hoping with time and work and patience, we will get our reward...

A whole new start...

'Let's set up an online shop and sell your stuff and other things too...how hard can it be?!'


Well it turns out...VERY!!!

For two intelligent women, which we like to think we are (!), this going into business...business (!) is not that easy. With a business degree and years of business experience between us, you'd think it would be a snip...nope!

In our blog relating to our new business, we intend to write about the ups and downs of starting your own online business, as well as the ups and downs of life surrounding the business.

This being the first blog post, I thought I'd keep it fairly brief and intend to add to it on a sporadic/routine basis!
